Laerskool Malelane is a parallel-medium primary school in Malelane, which means that it is also a multi-cultural school. There are currently 439 learners registered from Grade R to Grade 7 of which the Afrikaans : English ratio is 46 : 54 %. The English group consists of mostly Siswati and Indian children.

Because of the socio-economic wellfare of many of the residents of Malelane and surrounding areas, there are many parents who have received excemption of payment of school fees. To replenish this loss from the budget, Laerskool Malelane runs several fundraising projects through the year.
